Quality & composition
Composition and priming
Base cloth composition, the priming process, and the limits of our test documentation.
Base cloth composition · descending by weight
Base cloth
A woven linen blend containing flax. It has a natural woven character that all-polyester canvas does not, at a lower cost than pure linen.
It is not pure linen and is not supplied as such. For a 100% linen requirement this is not the correct product.
Labelling
Composition is listed in descending order by weight, as US FTC and EU 1007/2011 textile labelling require. It is the same figure your customs broker and your lab will see.
Production
How a roll is made
Step 01
Woven base cloth
Linen-blend cloth woven to our specification and checked for weave regularity before priming.
Step 02
Multiple-coat white priming
Primer applied in multiple passes. The formulation is adjusted by season and by destination market, so the cloth suits the climate it will be used in.
Step 03
Inspection & roll-up
Surface and weight checked through the run, then rolled on a cardboard core.
Step 04
Wrapped & dispatched
Polythene-wrapped 50 m rolls, packed for export, with documents arranged for your broker.
Test record
Material safety
A representative primed linen-canvas sample passed CPSIA total-lead, phthalate and ASTM soluble-heavy-metal testing at a CPSC-recognised laboratory (report CTT2405016992CN, June 2024).
The report covers one submitted sample and is not a whole-scope CPSIA compliance statement. It is available on request.
